How To Write An Essay Cover Page Without Effort

As a student in most school systems you will be asked to write numerous essays during your scholastic career. Your grade will depend on how well you follow directions on how the essay is supposed to be written. Your teacher will give you explicit instructions on how it should be done. Some teachers want you to write a particular kind of essay that has a particular format to follow. Others will leave the type of essay wide open but wants to give you the subject matter or possibly even the topic sentence. Others have a particular written format such as MLA style or Chicago style which dictates things like spacing, font, bibliographical format and other things that they want. They do this so they can easily find things as they have to read tons of essays. All of them look the same so all they have to concentrate on is the content. Some teachers want a cover page on the essays and others don’t care. A cover page gives the essay a more professional appearance. Here is some information on how to write a cover page in the event your teacher asks for one.

  • You cover page is a blank piece of paper that goes in front of your first page.
  • Find the center of the page and center you title there. Use all capital letters.
  • Go down to the bottom third of the page and center your name.
  • Single space and then write the course number, name of course
  • Single space and then write the instructors name
  • Single space and then write the date

This is an example of a title page in the Chicago style of formatting. Your teacher will indicate which to follow or they will just give you instructions of how to lay out your title page. As long as you follow the directions properly, you will not get any points deducted for not following directions. The grade you receive on the essay will be determined by how well you follow directions. Your teachers are training your for college writing by making you do different types of essays with different formats. You will thank your teachers for preparing you this way. All you need to do is listen to the directions, look up the formatting if the teacher doesn’t give them to you and then create your paper according to those guidelines.
